This Altas is the first of its kind! Traditionally visual Atlases are the domain of surgeons/interventionalists; this is the first time it has been brought to the library of critical care physician/anesthesiologist/emergency doctors who deal with these sick patients every day.
The book is edited by Dr Yatin Mehta and Dr Jeetendra Sharma and published by Jaypee Bros. It has 26 chapters in 640 pages written by 70 authors from all over India. The book covers all the aspects of critical care, the content is outstanding, the images are beautiful and the printing quality is excellent!
The section on airway management has very nice images that are self-explanatory and written by two leading anesthesiologist/Critical care physicians Dr Sheila Myatra and Dr Rakesh Kumar. The respiratory system has beautiful bronchoscopy illustrations by Prof G C Khilnani. Cardiology is fully covered by well-known cardiologists and anesthesiologists while GI has very nice images by Drs Randhir Sood and Dr Kaushal Madan. Neurology is covered by two stalwarts Dr Kapil Zirpe and Dr Harsh Sapra with beautiful scans from their centres. Trauma, Microbiology and other aspects are also very nicely illustrated and explained.
This atlas is a must for any medical library.
